TRIESTE – The 2026 Costa Cruises World Cruise sets sail today from Trieste, with Costa Deliziosa beginning a 142-day journey across five continents.

The ship departs from a port that has become a key hub for these long voyages and also offers embarkation from Bari, Naples and Savona. Return to Trieste is scheduled for 11 April 2026. More than two thousand guests are on board, mainly from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Austria. The world cruise remains one of the company’s signature products. Introduced in the 1970s, it continues to appeal to travellers seeking a long and complex experience designed to cross oceans and cultures. The 2026 edition is one of the most extensive, with 51 destinations in 33 countries.

Costa Deliziosa will sail westbound. From the Mediterranean, the cruise will cross the Atlantic with calls in France, Spain, Morocco and the Canary Islands, before reaching Barbados. After transiting the Panama Canal, the ship will call in Peru and Chile and continue to Easter Island, home of the Moai statues. The Pacific crossing will be the longest stretch, taking in Pitcairn, French Polynesia, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia before arriving in Australia. The route will then continue to Papua New Guinea and Japan, where Tokyo appears for the first time, along with Kobe and Nagasaki, followed by South Korea.
The ship will then call in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia. The final part of the voyage will cross the Indian Ocean, with stops in Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Mauritius, before heading to South Africa and Namibia and then north to Cape Verde and the Mediterranean, ending the journey back in Italy.
