TRIESTE – TO Delta and Alpe Adria (a logistics and intermodal company) will manage the railway service between the Port of Trieste and Ludwigshafen, in Germany.
The train, which left today from the Molo VII container terminal managed by Trieste Marine Terminal, had been announced recently by MSC.
This new link aims to extend Trieste’s commercial influence on the German market in a critical industrial area such as the Rhineland and in addition to the already regions served of Bavaria and Baden Wurttemberg.
With a transit time of 20 hours, the train service (weekly) will become one of the fastest available. MSC will use it to reduce transit times between Turkey and Germany to around 12 days, integrating it with existing maritime services (MSC’s D line and Adriakia).
