TRIESTE – Regional maritime links in Friuli Venezia Giulia will restart on 25 April, with an expanded offer along the coast and in the lagoon areas.
With the start of the summer season, coastal and lagoon services are returning to operation, increasingly used by both residents and tourists. The system, regional Infrastructure councillor Cristina Amirante stresses, is now an integral part of regional mobility and not merely a service with a tourist vocation.
The first routes to become active concern the Trieste coastline, with the Trieste-Barcola-Grignano-Sistiana link, and the Trieste-Grado-Lignano Sabbiadoro route. These are the main services that will remain in operation throughout the season, until autumn.

The offer covers the main centres along the regional coastline, also including Sistiana, Duino, Monfalcone and Marano Lagunare. In the following months, the service will be completed with the gradual activation of further routes, both coastal and lagoon-based.
The 2026 season starts with a revised organisation, following the management and operational criticalities that emerged in previous years. The Region points to a reorganisation process that has led to more stable and reliable planning.

Among the new features are also more flexible solutions for users, such as stops on request on some routes, including Porto Vivo and Cedas, and greater coordination with local public transport. The objective is to strengthen an integrated and sustainable mobility system, capable of offering an alternative to road traffic and improving accessibility across the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia coastline.
