TRIESTE – With a meagre note to the operators of the Port of Monfalcone, Trieste Terminal Passeggeri has announced that the MSC cruise ships scheduled for the weekend will skip the call.
Msc Orchestra and Msc Magnifica will therefore not be present on the Monfalcone quay. Still, they will return to Venice, actually to Porto Marghera, for the well-known limitations in the Lagoon. This is another of the first consequences of the announced strike – even if it seems to be more of a demonstration – at the Trieste and Monfalcone ports of call. For cruise ships in the port, the municipal administration is fighting hard. At the same time, some problems on the quay were raised by commercial operators, who complain of a difficult coexistence due to the sharing of space, right at weekends.
