TRIESTE – The transfer phase from the San Giorgio di Nogaro shipyard to Genoa began on Monday, 20 October, involving the hull sections of the new ultra-luxury vessel under construction by T. Mariotti for Aman Group.
As reported by Fedepiloti, the complex departure manoeuvre of the barge Arcalupa began from the Cimolai quay at the Friulian yard. On board the 127-metre-long, 31-metre-wide barge was loaded the first of two sections of the new vessel, officially designated MAR 221: the aft section, measuring 83.199 metres in length and 28.5 metres in height.
“The manoeuvre was carried out by CLC Pietro Russo and CLC Gaetano Galuppo, with the valuable support of Captains Alessandro Bianchi and Giovanni Fragiacomo. The operation required precision, coordination and professionalism, once again confirming the high level of safety and expertise ensured by Italian harbour pilots in the most delicate operations,” said Fedepiloti. The transfer of the second section—the bow—is scheduled for early November, completing the delivery of the hull.
T. Mariotti has signed with Aman Group a contract for the construction of “Aman at Sea”, a 183-metre vessel halfway between a private yacht and an ultra-luxury cruise ship, developed in joint venture with Cruise Saudi and scheduled for delivery in 2027. The project, developed with the contribution of Trieste-based Meccano Engineering and Nord Est Engineering, features a dual-fuel propulsion system (marine diesel and green methanol)—the first of its kind. The ship, classed by Lloyd’s Register, will offer 50 balcony suites, restaurants, a spa with Japanese garden, two helipads and a spacious beach club. Ortec, Santamaria and De Wave Group are also involved in the construction.
